Hospital Team

StaffKari - Practice Manager

Kari Burd has been with us at Suncook River Veterinary Clinic since we opened and has been in the veterinary field for more than 13 years. She started working as a kennel technician and she has been assisting Dr. Reeve for the past six years. Kari assists with scheduling appointments, dispensing medications, preparing vaccines, surgical preparation, anesthesia and monitoring and more. The most satisfying part of the job, she said, is caring for our hospitalized pets.

"Dr. Reeve and I have worked together for so long we can finish each other's sentences. We interact together in a manner that makes clients feel welcomed and at ease," Kari said. Kari is also currently enrolled in a veterinary technician certification program at Penn-Foster College.

"I chose to work at Suncook River Veterinary Clinic because I believe that Dr. Reeve's compassion and love for her work is unmatched," Kari said. "The time and care we put into our patients is hard to find at other clinics."

Kari shares her home with six cats, two dogs (Montie and Bigsby), and she spends her time away from the hospital with her son. She enjoys the outdoors and photography.

StaffJessica - Office Manager

Jessica is our wonderful and smiling Office Manager her at Suncook River Veterinary Clinic. She’ll be there to take your phone calls, schedule your appointments, and get your questions answered. She enjoys helping the clients that come through our door, and building a bonding relationship with dogs and cats alike. She loves to help with the daycare dogs, and can often be seen snuggling with a kitten behind her desk.

Jessica was born and raised in New Hampshire. She moved to Seattle in 2008 to work for the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration as a shipboard technician. After traveling around the globe for several years doing oceanography, she returned to New Hampshire to work with us as our lovely receptionist.

“I love working at Suncook River Vet. We are like one big family here.” She said. “It brings me so much joy to be able to help people and their pets the best way that I know how.”

Jessica has a Westie named Scupper (Sk-uh-perr) who comes to daycare every day to play with the other dogs. She enjoys long distance traveling, surfing, boating, and riding her pink scooter around with Scupper on the back.

StaffJamie - Head Veterinary Technician

Jamie started out with us at the front desk. She has slowly migrated to working out back as an assistant helping out where needed. Since then, Jaime has completed her training to become a veterinary technician and aspires to go back to school to become certified as a veterinary technician.

Jamie is a NH native and has lived here her whole life. She is a very bubbly and happy person you will frequently find her singing away as she works. We’ve asked her to stop on many occasions but it hasn’t helped. She can also be found having conversations with herself, they seem to increase her work productivity so this is another thing we have learned to overlook!

She enjoys hiking in her free time, and spending lots of time with her animals. She has a dog Addyson that you may often see out in the daycare yard enjoying all the play time with her friends. She also has a cat Jerry, who she adopted from SRVC.

StaffSamantha - Certified Veterinary Technician

Samantha Durgin is a skilled and enthusiastic Certified Veterinary Technician with Suncook River Veterinary Clinic. Her responsibilities include assisting during exams and surgery, x-rays, blood draws, dentals, and keeping kennels clean. Samantha earned her degree in veterinary technology from Great Bay Community College and has been with the clinic since November 2012.

"I love working at Suncook River Veterinary Clinic," she says. "Dr. Reeve truly cares for the animals, and the staff is friendly and easy to get along with."

Outside work, Samantha enjoys horse pulling, horseback riding, fishing, gardening, and spending time with friends. She has two dogs, Sebastian and Buck, two cats, Thomas and Birdy, and four horses, Mimi, Pete, Hank, and Prince.

StaffMadeline - Veterinary Technician

Madeline has been our Veterinary Technician at Suncook River Veterinary Clinic since 2015. She performs laser therapy, physical therapy, and assists in nutrition for our animals.

She has two dogs and one cat at home named Henri, Mars, and Louise. She thoroughly enjoys going to the beach and kayaking with the dogs, especially since Henri loves swimming! IN her free time, Madeline loves going to Hampton Beach.

StaffJulianna - Receptionist/Veterinary Technician

Julianna joined our team in April of 2018 as our Receptionist and she is currently training to be a veterinary technician, as well! She greets clients, assists in check-ins and outs, helps with lab work, x-rays, giving vaccines, and other ways that our vets need her help.

"I love the environment and the people [at Suncook]," Julianna says. "All the clients have been extremely nice and welcoming. My training [for veterinary technician] has been great so far and I feel like I'll fit in perfectly!"

Julianna has two pets, a Lab/Shepard mix named Rylie, and a Tortoiseshell cat named Pumpkin. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, fishing, camping, skiing, and going on road trips.

StaffJennell - Receptionist

Jennell is our part-time Receptionist and warmly greets our clients when they walk through the door, as well as assisting in their check-ins and medical history for their pets. She thoroughly enjoys talking to our clients about their pets, their lives, their day-to-day and simply getting to know them better!

"Suncook River Vet is so great," Jennell gushes. "Dr. Reeve treats us all like family. We all love working here and it resonates to our clients and patients. I also love that we're a Fear Free clinic!"

At home, Jennell has two dogs, Tehya and Ariah, and two cats, Mary and Bear. She thoroughly enjoys walking her dogs on hiking trails to spend some quality time with them. She also loves hiking with her kids and going on fun family events that New Hampshire has to offer.

StaffAngel - Kennel Technician

Angel works full-time as a Kennel Technician at Suncook River Veterinary Clinic. She is currently enrolled in school and training to be a veterinary technician. Some of her job responsibilities as a kennel technician include caring for the daycare and boarding dogs, cleaning and organizing, assisting our vet techs, and occasionally helping our groomer when needed. Angel describes the Suncook River team as a family and she greatly enjoys working with them and all of the animals that enter our clinic doors.

Angel has a lot of experience with all kinds of livestock and pets. At home, she cares for goats, pigs, bunnies, chickens, ducks, and dogs of her own. Angel is registered with the American Dairy Goat Association and shows goats in her free time. She enjoys hiking, road trips, working with her animals, cooking, and watching Netflix.

StaffCaitlyn - Kennel Technician

Caitlyn is a full-time Kennel Technician at Suncook River Veterinary Clinic. Her job responsibilities include walking, feeding, cleaning, and keeping the animals safe during their stay. Caitlyn appreciates the welcoming and helpful atmosphere of the clinic and enjoys being apart of the team.

When she isn’t working, Caitlyn enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, driving, listening to music, and watching Netflix. She has two dogs of her own, Monty and Mabel. They are Maincoon Mixes that will be turning 3 in May of 2019.

StaffAlana - Receptionist

Full-time Receptionist, Alana, joined the Suncook River Veterinary team in August of 2018. Her daily responsibilities include answering phones, filing, faxing, and greeting our wonderful clients. Alana enjoys connecting with all kinds of animals and their owners during their visit to our clinic.

In her free time, Alana enjoys road trips, hiking in the mountains, yoga, weight lifting, target practice, and attending concerts. At home she cares for two cats of her own, Nia and Scump.
